HostSignal publishes independent hosting and site-stack reviews for people running one site, or a handful. The voice is the brand. There is no founder bio, no personal newsletter persona, and no “as a busy dad of three” filler.

What we cover

Shared and managed hosting, WordPress moves, and the writing tools that sit next to a small site. The job is not to crown a universal winner. It is to map a stack to a workload: a brochure site, a growing WordPress install, or a freelancer who writes for clients all week.

How a review is built

• Start from vendor-published pricing, plan limits, and refund windows.
• Separate intro rates from renewal rates and prepaid term length.
• Note support channels and backup cadence, not just “24/7” badges.
• Call out overage rules when traffic or storage is the billing metric.
• Refuse fake testimonials and invented commission percentages.

What we will not pretend

We do not run a private lab that “tested 87 hosts this month.” When a claim is based on published specs or widely reported product changes, we say that. When pricing is promotional, we date-stamp the check and tell you to re-read checkout.

Money

Some reviews will eventually use affiliate links. Until those programs are live, frontmatter carries REPLACE_ME placeholder URLs. We do not invent payout tables. Details live on the disclosure page.
